Donald S. Garlough

MIDDLETON - Donald S. Garlough, age 63, of Middleton passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, after a year and a half battle with ALS. Don was bom June 22, 1938, in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and he was a Madison resident from 1981 to 1991 and returned to the area in 2001.

He graduated from Indiana University where he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity in 1961 and in 1962, he joined Crawford and Co. in Joliet, 111. Don married the former Patsy Ann Rupert in South Bend, Ind. on July 13, 1963. He proceeded to Madison and capped his career as manager of the Chicago Crawford office.

Don was a lifelong tennis player and an avid golfer. In addition he was an enthusiastic Indiana Hoosier basketball and Chicago Bear football fan. He is survived by his wife, Patsy; two daughters, Christine Garlough of Madison and Carrie Garlough of Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Gabriel Garlough-Shah and Isabel Garlough-Shah, both of Madison; a sister, Judy Smith of Rochester Hills, Mich.; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at 2:00 p.m. at the FITCH-LAWRENCE-SANFILLIPPO-CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 6021 University Avenue. Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home. A special thanks to the people at the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare Center for their compassionate care of Donald and his family during the last week of his life. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Don and Marilyn Anderson HospiceCare, 5395 E. Cheryl Parkway, Madison, Wis. 53711 or the ALS Association.
