Ronald R. Donat, 65, of 70413 Fawn Lane, Edwardsburg, Mich., passed away after a brief illness at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, while a patient in Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Sept. 8, 1938, in South Bend, Ind., to Ray and Dorothy (Hoffman) Donat. Shortly after his birth, his parents both died and Ronald and his brother, George were reared by their grandparents, George and Bertha Hoffman of South Bend.

Ron was married June 8, 1968, in Elkhart, Ind., to Patricia A. Kantorowski, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Michelle A. (Randy) Hanshew of Elkhart; two sons, Robert Donat of South Bend and Bradley Donat of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Bradley Jr. and Cole Robert; and by a brother, George (Edie Gray) Donat of Goshen, Ind.

Ron enjoyed hobbies of trap and skeet shooting and was a member of Conservation Clubs.

Friends may call in the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home today from 3 to 7 p.m. There will be a service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home conducted by Ron's family and friends. Cremation will follow the services. TAPS will be played at the conclusion of services.

Ron was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, worked as an engineer technician for C G Conn and then later for Miles-Bayer Corp, both of Elkhart. He had lived in the Michiana area all his life.

Memorial donations may be made to the Edwardsburg Conservation Club.
