Rodney Lee Younce, 50, of South Bend, Ind., died at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 27, 1946, in Peru, Ind., to Ernest and Mildred (Harts) Younce. Mr. Younce worked for the A.M. General Corporation.

He is survived by his mother, Mildred, with whom he lived.

Rodney was a veteran of the Navy, serving from 1967 to 1971. He was a long-time member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, served as head usher and was involved on the worship committee of the church. He belonged to the Epworth Singles Group.

Services for Mr. Younce will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in the Epworth United Methodist Church, 2404 Lincoln Way West, with the Rev. John Wagner officiating.

Friends will be received at the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will take place in the Santa Fe (Ind.) Cemetery.

The family has requested that memorials in Rodney's memory be made to either the church or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
