SOUTH BEND - Raymond Otis Johnson was born to the union of Hosea and Gladys Johnson on December 20th, 1945, in South Bend, Indiana. Raymond, affectionately known as "Ray," accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a young age and was baptized into the Berean Seventh-day Adventist Church. In 1970 Ray moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, with his Uncle Bill Manning. Ray lived in Fort Wayne for over 30 years, where he worked for NIPSCO for 30-plus years as a pipefitter and then field supervisor. Ray was a member of NIPSCO's employee bowling league for many years and a member of the Masonic Club for over 20 years with a 32nd degree. On December 8th, 2011, the Lord called Ray to rest after a lengthy illness.

Preceding Ray in death were his mother, Gladys and his father, Hosea; two brothers, Wayne A. and Terry V. Johnson; one sister, Faye E. Johnson; and one nephew, Michael T. Lee.

Ray is survived by his three sisters, Doris Lee of Covington, GA, Dessie Fils of Jacksonville, Florida, and Linda Johnson of Stockbridge, GA. Ray has two surviving brothers, Ron (Claudia) Johnson of Rex, GA, and Larry (Sandra) Johnson of South Bend, Indiana. Ray leaves to cherish his memory two beautiful daughters, Cynthia Johnson of Lithonia, GA, and Nina Johnson of Marilyn; one son, Lamar Porter of Fort Wayne, Indiana; a very special friend, Ms. Eleanor Holman of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
