Carolyn Jean Hartz, 65, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, in Memorial Hospital of complications from emphysema. She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon E. Hartz in 2002 and her father, Jack D. Howard in 1969. Loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother. Carolyn is survived by her mother, Eleanor Crabill; two brothers, Ed (DeAnn) Crabill, and Greg (Bilene) Crabill; three sisters, Jackie (Art) Hoyt, Patricia (Rick) Hanna, and Sue (Bill) Barnard; two daughters, Catherine Braunsdorf, and Mary (Tom) McCormick; two sons, Eugene and Stephen; three granddaughters, Kristin, Austynn, and Chloe; three grandsons, Ryan, Devin, and Stephen Jr.; and by one sister-in-law, Shelby Hall. 

Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of South Bend Central High School.

She was a member of the Second Wind Group and served faithfully in many areas of service at Keller Park Missionary Church.

Viewing will be held at Kaniewski Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2007, and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday in the Keller Park Missionary Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Keller Park Missionary Church, 1003 W. Bryan, South Bend, followed by a graveside service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.
