KRISTOWSKI-FITTERLING

Aug. 10,1921- April 14, 2009 LAKEVILLE - Mildred L. Kristowski-Fitterling, 87, of Lakeville, IN passed away at 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in the Milton Home. She was born August 10, 1921 in South Bend, to the late Karl F. and Anna (Borostowski) Hoffmann.

On July 18, 1940 in Crown Point, IN, she married Arnold G. Kristowski, who preceded her in death on July 30, 1991. She married Leonard A. Fittlering in Woodland, IN on January 23, 1994; he preceded her in death on September 22, 1998.

Mrs. Kristowski-Fitterling is survived by her daughter, Susan K. (Mike) Stanchin of South Bend, IN; two sons, Dennis (Sue) Krist of Ft. Wayne, IN and Alan (Linda) Kristowski of Lutz, FL; nine grandchildren, Holli (Jim) Scheerer, Shawn (Jenna) Krist, Jason (Melissa) Kristowski, Joshua (Amanda) Kristowski, Jennifer (Stephen) Wright, Melissa (Shawn) Whiteman, Amy (Michael) Kanarios, Sarah Stanchin, and Rebecca (Ray) Hancart; nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Lybarger of Lakeville, IN and Hilda Weaver of Citrus Springs, FL; and brother, Herman Hoffmann of South Bend, IN.

Two sisters, Irma Sayer and Dorthea Hoffmann and brother, Karl Hoffmann preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kristowski-Fitterling was a graduate of South Bend Central High School.

She worked in the Athletic Department and was a law placement director for the University of Notre Dame Law School, retiring in 1981 after 22 years of service. She also was a law placement director for Valparaiso University. Mrs. Kristowski-Fitterling was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Woodland, IN. Blessed with a love for music, Millie shared her talent with many choirs including, church, Kaley School PTA, University of Notre Dame Faculty and Staff, IUSB Symphonic and The Hoffmann Family Singers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 15697 New Road, Mishawaka, IN. Rev. Karl A. Brenner will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at church. Contributions may be offered to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund or American Diabetes Association, 6415 Castleway W.
