BETTY (AUGUSTINE) BUECHLER

April 11, 1920 - June 24, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Betty Jean Buechler, 89, of South Bend, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Buechler was born April 11, 1920, in South Bend, to the late Lloyd and Faye Crothers Augustine, and was a lifetime area resident.

On August 17, 1946, in South Bend, as Betty Jean Augustine, she married Ruhland L. "Rudy" Buechler, who preceded her in death January 11, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Jo Huff.

She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie L. "Lynn" Buechler of South Bend and Sheila A. Haynes and her husband, Noel of Bedford, TX; two grandsons, Brad Fisher and his wife, Julie of Ft. Worth, TX, and Brett Fisher and his wife, Karin of Colleyville, TX; and five great-grandchildren, Austin, Ashley, Kelly, Eric and Kurt Fisher.

Mrs. Buechler was a graduate of South Bend Central High School and the Epworth School of Nursing. She was a member of the Memorial Hospital Alumni Association where she served as treasurer.

Private family graveside services and burial will be held at Highland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The Welsheimer Family Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Family and friends may leave e-mail condolences at welshfh@yahoo.com.
