Robert Lee Sellers

Robert L. Sellers, 82, of South Bend IN, and Sun City AZ, passed away on April 22, 2011 at his South Bend home surrounded by his family. Robert was born on April 19, 1929 in South Bend to Mabel and Irvin Sellers. In addition to his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Sellers (Barber), he was predeceased by his sister Kathryn Morgan (James) of Phoenix, AZ.

Robert is survived by his children, R. Michael Sellers (Kay), Karen Marie Harrell (Mike), Patricia Ann Sellers, John Richard Sellers, William Barber Sellers (Denise), Mary Cathleen Scheffert (Terry) of Portage, MI, and Susan Marie Quickstad (John); 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Kathy Brien (James).

His marriage was blessed with tremendous love and devotion to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His nieces and nephews in Phoenix knew him as the kind and tolerant Uncle Bob that he was, with a large dose of sunshine inspired love. With endless optimism and enormous capacity to accept, he guided and counseled his large family. He was a gentle inspiration to them all.

His companion of six years, Patricia Jo Voss, offered him love, friendship and kindness. She is greatly admired by his family.

With his son Michael, Robert owned and operated Liberty Steel Service and Federal Metals. Robert participated in Junior Achievement, Northside Little League, Knollwood Country Club, St. Patrick's Parish, Holy Cross Parish and St. Pius X church.
