Joan Marie Hoffman (Goralski) - Class Of 1946 VIEW PROFILE

Joan Marie Hoffman (Goralski)

Joan (Hoffman) Goralski

Joan (Hoffman) Goralski, 93, of South Bend, IN passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon after a long and inspiring life. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother, who was committed to her family.

Growing up with 2 brothers, Joan always knew how important family was and would do what she could to make others feel loved. She worked at K-Mart for 18 years, retiring in 1993. Joan married Joseph Goralski on November 1, 1952 at St. Casimir's Church. They loved to travel, and traversed across the country throughout their lives. Joan had many hobbies, from reading to sewing to cooking, she was always doing something and sharing her work with her family and friends. As her only child, Cheryl and her family were the largest part of her life, especially after retirement. She adored her grandsons and spent as much time with them as she could. She taught them her special recipes, how to play games like Scrabble, and completed many a puzzle with them–not to mention traveling around the country experiencing places like Niagara Falls and Myrtle Beach. Joan was also a proud member of PNA #83.

Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Joe) Goralski, her parents, Benjamin and Jean, and her siblings, James and Edward. Joan is survived by her daughter Cheryl Herman and her husband Bill, and her grandsons, Jim, Joe, and John Herman.

Visitation for Joan will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022, with a funeral service starting at 6:00pm at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
