SOUTH BEND - Edwin "Etch" H. Keb, 88, of South Bend, IN passed away at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009, in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, South Bend.

He was born on August 15, 1921, in South Bend to Martin Andrew and Clara (Scope) Keb. On September 4, 1948, in South Bend, IN, he married Esther (Nixon) Keb, who survives. Mr. Keb is also survived by two sons, Harold (Arlene) Keb of Plymouth, IN and Thomas (Rebecca) Keb of LaPaz, IN; two grandchildren, Jesse (Melissa) Keb of Plymouth, IN and Christine (Danny) Banks of Edwardsburg, IN; one great grandchild, Aaron Thomas Keb; sister, Lucille Peak of South Bend, IN and brother, Clifford Keb of South Bend, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Raymond, Clarence and Wilbur Keb. Mr. Keb was a graduate of Central High School. He served honorably in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Keb retired after twenty nine years of service as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He spent thirty five years living in Ocala, FL, where he was a lifetime member of the American Legion. Mr. Keb formerly attended Zion United Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2009 in the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St. Lakeville. Rev. Bob Lambert will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009 in the funeral home. A military graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 in Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. Contributions may be offered to Alzheimer Services, 922 E.
