Angela Theresa Hahaj Eudaley

Angela Theresa Eudaley was born on August 14, 1923 in South Bend, Indiana to Hedwig and Walter Hahaj. Angela was the fourth oldest of ten children. She attended Saint Stanislaus Parochial School and South Central High School where she graduated at the top of her class at the age of sixteen. She then joined the Marines during World War II where she learned to be a bookkeeper. After the war ended she took a position as a bookkeeper at The Atomic Energy Plant in Augusta, Georgia. Later when visiting friends in Palm Beach, Florida, she met her future husband, William Eudaley. After a brief courtship they were married and proceeded to build a life together. Bill was an Air Force pilot and Angela, a homemaker. They were stationed in South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, California and finally, here in Spokane Washington where they retired. Angela loved Spokane and North Idaho where she spent summers at Lake Pend Orielle. She also enjoyed playing duplicate bridge. She traveled to several tournaments and was awarded the title of "Life Master." Most of all, Angela enjoyed her family which included her husband Bill and her daughter, Sandra. Angela was an excellent cook and she also loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Family always came first and foremost. Angela passed away on June 19, 2011 after a six year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She spent the last four years at Gloria Churchill's adult home where she was able to have complete care and live with dignity.

Angela was preceded in death by her husband, William, who died from cancer in 1997. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Benedict Hahaj, John Hahaj, Eugene Hahaj, Leonard Hahaj, Raymond Hahaj and Louis Hahaj. And also sisters, Mary (Hahaj) Polly and Bernadette (Hahaj) Sappington. All resided in South Bend, Indiana except for Louis who lived in Post Falls, Idaho.

She is survived by one brother, Francis Hahaj of South Bend, Indiana and her daughter, Sandra (Eudaley) Baird and son-in-law, Daniel Baird, both from Spokane.

Grandchildren include, Christopher (Rachele) Flatt, Kelsey (Amadeo) Alas, Benjamin Baird, Harper Baird and Olivia Baird. Great-grandchildren include Daley, Josephine and Francisco.

Angela is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces in South Bend, Indiana.

Angela was a devout Catholic who regularly attended St. Augustine Catholic Parish. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

Viewing will be from 12 to 5 on Friday, June 24th with a Rosary on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 7 pm, ALL at the funeral home. Angela's funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, June 27, 2011 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 428 W. 19th.
