James L. Shedd Sr.
April 1, 1936 - July 2, 2019

James L. Shedd Sr., 83, of Mishawaka, passed away on Tuesday, July 2nd at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. James was born in South Bend on April 1, 1936 to Beverly and Marion (Richmond) Shedd.

James married the love of his life, Linda Whitfield, on February 7, 1962 in South Bend. Jim was a Green Beret proudly serving in the US Army, until his honorable discharge in 1978. He worked for the US Postal service and was also a dispatcher for a local trucking company. Jim was a die-hard Yankee fan, even this past Saturday, he waited to go to the hospital until he saw the London series. He loved to be involved with coaching baseball and softball. He loved his dogs, but his greatest joy came from spending time and being with his family. Anyone who met him loved him.

James is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda, along with their children, Steve (Anita) Shedd, Tim Shedd, Jaime (Tessio) Davidovic, Michelle (Dale) Shedd, Jim (Vina) Shedd, John (Jeanne) Shedd, Jacki Jackson, John (Kathy) DeCloedt and Jackie (Mike) Hahn. He was the proud Papa of 22, and great-grandpa of 23.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 8th from 2:00 until 4:00pm in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka. A service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 4:00pm, with military honors conducted by the VFW Post 360/ American Legion Post 161 burial team. He will be laid to rest at a later date in the Fairview Cemetery of Mishawaka.
