ETHELREDA (FOX) HOUGHTON

SOUTH BEND - Ethelreda "Reda" Houghton, 73, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Monday, August 9, 2010 in Alleghany General Hospital. Reda was born on October 27, 1936 in South Bend to the late Roman (Fox) and Marie (Kubiak) Lisecki.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer.

On February 11, 1956 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church she married Harold Houghton. He survives, along with their three children, Kathy (Kipp) Hall of New Albany, OH, Keith (Corrine) Houghton of Sachse, TX and Randy Houghton of Allen, TX; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Kurt, Phillip and Nathalie Houghton of TX and Kelsey, Taylor and Makenzie Hall of OH; two sisters, Eleanor Maxon of Fl and Evelyn (James) Schrader of New Carlsile; sister-in-law, Shirley Fox of Buchanan, MI; and by her brother, Eugene (Beverly) Fox of South Bend.

Reda enjoyed art and traveling and was an avid reader. She loved her animals, especially dogs. She was a former 4-H and Campfire leader.

Reda graduated from Central High School, Class of 1955.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2010 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road where a Rosary will be recited. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2010 in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617. For those who are unable to attend the Funeral Liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net
