Edmund Leo Gorney

LAPAZ - Edmund L. Gorney, 61, of 1460 Kimble St., died at 7:16 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
Mr. Gorney retired in 1989 after 30 years as LaPaz postmaster. He was born Nov. 19, 1933, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 30, 1957, in South Bend, he married Janet Quinn.
She survives with a daughter, Lynette P. Gorney of Plymouth; and a sister, Susan Frauli of Laconia, Ind. A daughter, Mary Rose Gorney, died in 1964. Mr. Gorney was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's Cathedral, South Bend. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Guisinger Colonial Chapel, South Bend, where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
