Kathleen “Kate” E. Mitchell, age 91, of Mishawaka, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Kathleen worked in security, retiring in 1984. She was a graduate from Central High School, and she worked for the Red Cross.

Kathleen was born in South Bend, IN on December 15, 1926 to Donald O. and Mary Edna (Dare) Colwell, who preceded her in death. Kathleen is survived by her niece Rebecca Bressler of Edwardsburg, MI, nephew Donald (Michelle) Price of Bartlette, TN, one grandchild Erica Turney, one great-grandchild Kathleen Turney, five great nieces and nephews, and six great-great nieces and nephews. Kathleen is preceded in death by her husband Albert Mitchell, son Edward A. (Rhonda) Mitchell, daughter Maralee Ann Mitchell, and siblings Marjorie Nadine Price and Roland Otis Colwell, who were twins.

Funeral services for Kathleen will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit with the family one prior. Pastor Fred Youngen will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Highland Cemetery in South Bend.
