JACK N. GUTHIER

Jack Norman Guthier, 76, of Platte City, MO, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005, at his home. Graveside services, with military honors, will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at the Platte City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions be given to the First Baptist Church of Platte City. Jack was born August 18, 1929, in Huntington, Indiana to Henry Sylvester and Helen Frances (Parker) Guthier.

He was a 1948 graduate of South Bend, IN Central High School, and was football player of the year in 1947.

Jack married Kathryn Yvonne Roberson on September 13, 1958, in Birmingham, AL. Jack served in the U.S. Marine Corps, AT. CO. 5th Regiment, 1st Marine Division; and was part of the "Chosen Reservoir". Jack worked as a computer analyst at Fort Leavenworth, KS. He was a little league football coach in Raytown, MO. Jack had lived in Platte City for the past eighteen years.

Jack was preceded in death by: his parents; and one daughter, Jackie Mentel in 2002.

He is survived by: his wife, Kathryn Guthier, of the home; three sons, Craig William, and Jack Guthier, all of Platte City; one daughter, Dannielle Edding of Green Forest, Arkansas; and one brother, William Edward Guthier, of Akin, South Carolina. Jack is also survived by: ten grandchildren, and eight greatgrandchildren. (Arrangements by: Rollins Funeral Home, Platte City, MO. 816-858-2129)
