MARY ANN LEWIS, 69, departed this life peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at Parkview Hospital surrounded by her family. Born May 26, 1947, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Preston "Press" and Estella (Bryant) Chaney Sr. Mary Ann was a graduate of Central High School and also graduated from Four Winds Academy of Cosmetology. She worked as a Cosmetologist for 30 years and was well known throughout the city for her hair cutting and styling design experience, retiring in 2008. She was a member of True Love Missionary Baptist Church for many years and volunteered for the F.W.P.D. Victim Assistance Office. Mary Ann enjoyed Gospel and Jazz music and her family. Surviving are her devoted husband, Lee Lewis; son, Gaylon Jerome Lewis of South Holland, Ill.; her bonus children, Dennis Lewis of Fort Wayne, Pamela Lewis of Atlanta, Ga., Trace Williams of Merryville, Iind., Tami (Ray) Lewis-Blue of Milton, Mass., and Diameoin Lamonte (Zanzy) Lewis of Fort Wayne; brothers, Preston (Christine) Chaney Jr. of South Bend, Ind. and Willie (Cheryl) Taylor of Fort Wayne; 18 grandchildren all dear to Mary Ann's heart; great-grandson, Jaxson "JJ" Lewis, "the apple of grandmas' eye" Devon; special granddaughters, Nia and Jazmin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
