Albert Edward Gay

Albert ''Skip'' Edward Gay, 57, of South Bend, Ind., passed away of a heart attack on Sunday, November 29.
He was born on August 13, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Gay; four daughters, Robin Gaytz, Rene Widmoyer, Yvonne Carney and Cassie Bridwell, all of South Bend; a son, Nicholas Gay, also of South Bend; ten grandchildren; and by four stepbrothers, Major (Rtd.) William Daugherty of Colorado Springs, John Daugherty of Colorado Springs, Lt. Dennis Daugherty of California and Thomas Daugherty of North Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Betty Gay; a sister, Rosemary Doyle; and by a son, Robert Gay.
Mr. Gay served as an Aviation Electrician in the United States Navy. He was a former member of the IBEW Local #153, and a Red Cross first aid instructor. Mr. Gay was a member of the Hardee's Racing Team and an active member of the St. Joseph Valley Rifle and Pistol Association on the South Bend Rifle and Pistol League. Mr. Gay had owned and operated Bell Electric and Al's Electric Services.
As a father, husband, and grandfather he will be truly missed.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and at 1 p.m. on Thursday with the Memorial Service following at 2 p.m. at Kaniewski Funeral Home on North Bendix Drive.
Contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart, Lung, or Diabetes Associations.
