SOUTH BEND - Terry S. Monroe Sr., 67, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2011, in his home. Terry was born on September 4, 1943, in Anderson, IN, to Paul and Lura Maxine (McGinnis) Monroe. He had been employed with City Auto Parts and MTI in South Bend.
Terry was a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #360, the Marine Corps League of South Bend, American Legion Post #284 and American Legion Pulaski Post #357.
Survivors include three daughters, Dawn Monroe of Osceola, IN, Tonia Coddens of South Bend, IN, and Kimberly (Paul) Felton of McMinnville, TN; two sons, Terry S. Monroe Jr. of Mishawaka, IN, and Robert (Tami) Hall of OFallon, IL; nine grandchildren, Eric Schlarb, Corey (Nikki) Hall, Tony Monroe, Cody Monroe, Brandon Monroe, Lucas Felton, Levi Felton, Shayne Monroe and Corban Felton; two great-grandchildren, Nevaih, and another one "on the way"; one sister, Cathy (Dave) Rieder of South Bend, IN; three brothers, Gary (Leah) Monroe of South Bend, IN, Steve (Diane) Monroe of South Bend, IN, and Jeff (Cindy) Monroe of North Carolina; and two grand-dogs, Lucy and Copper.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
