Mr. Alexander Nance, 48, of 3007 Heritage Court, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on April 30, 1997 at his residence.

He was born on June 24, 1948, in South Bend, Ind. to the union of Marie (Cox) and O.D. Nance who both preceded him in death. Mr. Nance attended Malcomb X College in Chicago, Ill. for three years and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1976. In 1975, he married Jean Goshern in Chicago.

Mr. Nance leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Jean Nance of Chicago, Ill., one daughter, Chanel Richardson of South Bend; three sons, Carry Pates of South Bend, Stacey Hackney of Niles, Mich. and Coshante Bouie of Chicago; six grandchildren; four sisters, Johnnie Broussard, Jermat Mitchell and Odelia Frison, all of South Bend and Delores Williams of Gary, Ind.; five brothers, Willie Otis Nance, Bernie Nance and Kyle Nance, all of South Bend, Robin Nance of Los Angeles, Calif. and Tracey Nance of Terre Haute, Ind; two stepbrothers, Denny Mitchell and Levi Mitchell, both of South Bend and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at Alford's Mortuary.

Alford's Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
