ELKHART - Jean I. Warner, 84, residing in Elkhart, IN, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, in Hospice House of Elkhart. She was born August 26, 1925, in South Bend, IN, the daughter of Otis L. and Irene (Laucker) Williams.

She graduated from Central High School in South Bend and remained a lifelong resident.

Jean retired from doing office work at Memorial Hospital after many years. On October 19, 1996, in South Bend, she married Chester Warner, who survives. Jean loved gardening in her spare time and belonged to the Four Winds Garden Club in Elkhart.

In addition to her husband, Chester, Jean is survived by one son, Ronald Young of Granger; three stepdaughters, Deborah (Victor) McKee of Syracuse, IN, Robin (Eric) Wetzel of Bristol, IN, and Terry (Dave) Lackey of Warsaw, IN; one stepson, Steven (Linda) Warner of North Webster, IN; 11 step-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Williams of Granger; and one nephew, Charles (Julie) Williams Jr. of Culver, IN.

Funeral services for Jean Warner will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010, in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may visit with the family from noon until the time of services. Entombment will follow in Riverview Mausoleum, South Bend. Expressions of sympathy on behalf of Mrs. Warner may be offered to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
