On July 24, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. Coleridge Taylor Dickinson went home to reside with his heavenly father. Mr. Dickinson was born on August 31, 1924, in Newton, Kansas, ten minutes before his twin brother, to the union of the late Senator Jesse L. and Helen O. (Bledsoe) Dickinson.

In 1927, his family moved to South Bend, IN. After graduating from Central High School, in 1943, "Dick" moved to Denver, CO, where he attended college and was employed by Union Pacific Railroad until drafted into the U.S. Navy. After an honorable discharge, he returned to Denver and the railroad where he met and married Constance E. Hall and moved to South Bend. Their union blessed them with Gwendolyn D. Williams (Everett), Gregory T. and Jesselen R. Dickinson. Dick was employed by 1st Bank and Trust (1st Source Bank). He was a fantastic bartender for the Shriners and worked professional banquets at Norte Dame while employed at Bendix (Honeywell) for 37 and 1/2 years.

In 1985, he married Rosalee Norsworthy, who preceded him in death on July 28, 2004. Also preceding him in death are his first wife, Constance Dickinson; their son, Gregory; his parents, Jesse and Helen; his twin, Roland and wife, Rosemary; and brothers, Val Jean "Skippy" and Carroll Dickinson; a beloved nephew, Michael; and grandnephew, Michael, who was killed in Iraq July 17, 2006. Surviving him are his daughters, Gwendolyn Williams and Jesselen Dickinson; two sisters-in-law, Indiana State Rep. G. Mae Dickinson and Kay Dickinson; five grandchildren, Bryron and Michael Williams; Aaron and Adam Greenidge; Shannon Dickinson; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, stepchildren and step-grandchildren.

Honorable mention to, Yvonne Wright, family friend. A visitation service was held for Mr. Coleridge Taylor Dickinson on Sunday, July 29, 2007, from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, 2702 Lincolnway West.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, July 30, 2007, in the Greater St. John M. B. Church, 101 N. Adams St., where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
