Glynn C. (Carter) Forbes

Glynn C. Forbes, 77, of Kenilworth Road, South Bend, Ind., formerly of Clyde Street, South Bend, died following a lengthy illness at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, June 7, in Your Home Assisted Living. Mrs. Forbes was born Aug. 15, 1925, in South Bend, to the late John T. and Vernice (Beerbower) Carter, and was a lifetime area resident. On June 17, 1944, in South Bend, as Glynn Carter, she married Tom M. Forbes, who preceded her death Nov. 12, 1994. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Joan Milner, and by a brother, Lamoine Carter. 

She is survived by two daughters, Sherri Forbes (Michael) Pea of Plainfield, Ind., and Jennifer Forbes (Troy) Shearman of Niles, Mich.; three grandchildren, Michelle and Andrew Pea, and Jared Shearman; and by a sister, Leone "Mickey" Kahl of Sellersburg, Ind.

Mrs. Forbes was a member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge #235 Auxiliary, and the Donnell Lake Association. Funeral services will be held at noon Thursday, June 12, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, with Rev. Jack Volkers of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
