Harriette T. (Ciesielski) Thomas

Harriette T. Thomas, age 69, of S. Meade St., South Bend, died at 10:40 p.m. Friday in her family home. She was born October 5, 1929, in South Bend, IN and was a lifelong area resident.

On February 20, 1954, in South Bend, as Harriette Ciesielski, she married Frank J. Tomaszewski (Thomas) who preceded her in death on May 9, 1971. Also preceding her in death were seven brothers and one sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn L. of South Bend; six sons, Frank M. Of Mishawaka, Donald V., Joseph A., Richard J., Randolph W. and David J. all of South Bend; two grandchildren, Frank M. of San Diego, and Diane L. Of Chicago; two great grand-.; daughters, Madelline of San Diego, and Samantha of Chicago; and one brother, Leonard-Ciesielski of Portage, Ind.

Prior to the death of her husband Frank on Mothers Day, May 9,- 1971, Mrs. Thomas was active in many civic organizations, such as the Girl Scouts, the Rosary society, and Polish National Alliance Lodge 83. After that time, she devoted her life as a homemaker to her seven children. She worked one third of her life, at Nyloncraft and she wishes to thank her friends and relatives foi-all the flowers and cards during her illness. They were most appreciated.

Family and friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a rosary will be said at 4:00 p.m. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church of which she was a member. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be. made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
