Lynwood Veotis Thompson, 72 years old, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his residence in Mishawaka. He was born October 3, 1948 in Mississippi to the late James and Robenia Thompson. On August 21, 2017 in South Bend, Lynwood was united in marriage to Betty.

Lynwood was a humble man, working as a chauffer driver. He had aspirations of becoming a Psychologist, but had to put that aside to help his family. He was a man that would always be willing to listen, give great advice, and be your confidant.

Along with his loving wife, Betty, Lynwood is survived by his children, Gabriel Thompson of Benton Harbor, MI, Michael Thompson of Bloomington, IN, Rachael Thompson of South Bend, and Destiny (Henry) Macon-Davis of Greenville, S.C.; grandchildren, Sienna Rose Thompson – 16 years old, Jacob Asbjorn Thompson – 14 years old, Liam Anthony Thompson – 9 years old, Bryson Davis – 6 years old, and Brielle Davis – 6 months old; ex-wife, Joi Blanchard of South Bend; brother, Kenny (Michelle) Thompson of San Diego, CA; sister, Dorothy Carter of Elkhart; nephews, Tommy (Rebecca) Gilespie and his children, Savon, Darrion, Leyanah, and Brooklyn, and Jeremy (Shelly) Gilespie and his children, Kai, Nevaeh, and Savannah all of Elkhart.

Per the family, no funeral services will be held at this time. Arrangements for the Thompson family are under the care of Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services.
