SOUTH BEND - Johnny B. Daniels, 62, of South Bend, went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2011. Johnny was born on March 20, 1949, in Ashburn, Georgia, to Joseph Haywood and Ruby Dell Daniels.

He leaves to cherish his memory brothers, Thomas Daniels, Joseph H. Daniels (Annie), Eugene Daniels (Rhonda); sisters, Vera M. Terrell and Ruby D. Daniels; his mother, Ruby D. Daniels. He is also survived by his children, Margaret Daniels, Angela L. Daniels-Davis (Louis), Johnny B. Daniels (Shannon), Calvin Daniels (Breanna), Tonya M. Daniels, Beverly Kaunda (Flywell) and Johnny R. Daniels. Also surviving are his 18 grandchildren, Rachel, Raymond, TyShaun, Joseph, Ashley, Carla, Shauwna, Johnny, Anquinetta, l'Zena, Kumari, Maleek, Ryan, Peyton, and Martin, Marlea, Marquis, Kaze; and 4 great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are three special friends, Maxine Wallace, Cheryl Leonard and Annette Hicks; and special niece, Shana'sty Sales. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Daniels; brother, Willie C. Daniels; and grandson, Xavier Daniels.

In 1959, Johnny, his mother and his siblings moved from Georgia to South Bend, Indiana.

He graduated from Central High School in 1967.

Johnny held several jobs during his lifetime. He retired from the Penny Saver in 2001. His most important job, to him, was taking care of his grandchildren. Johnny was a fun, happy and loving person. He loved to cook and spend time with his grandchildren. He was affectionately known by his friends as "Bees" or "B. Daddy." Johnny was well-liked by everyone who knew him. He leaves behind many family and friends who are going to miss him very much. The family would like to thank the South Bend Fire Department and Memorial Hospital for the care they showed him.

Services will be Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Alford's Funeral Home, 1222 Napier St., South Bend, at 2 pm. Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 1 pm. Memorial contributions may be sent to Alford's Funeral Home in Johnny's name. "We sprouted from a seed of wisdom, laughter and happiness and it turned into something beautiful. We love you daddy; you were fun and loving; we are going to miss you." Love, "Your Kids"
