Dorothy Jean Plump

Sep. 9, 1937 - Mar. 10, 1999

Ms. Dorothy Jean Plump, loving mother, sister, and grandmother, 61, of Diamond Avenue, South Bend, Ind., passed away following a brief illness at 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

On September 9, 1937, in South Bend, she was born to Hattie Mae (Floyd) and Willie Matthew Plump, who both preceded her in death.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory one son, Kenneth Phillip (Sharon) Plump; one grandson, Kenneth Phillip Plump, Jr.; six sisters, Ora Lee Ewing, Mary Ellen Buggs, Linda Smith, Carol Plump Haggen, Jeanette B. Smith and Rose M. Fulton; three brothers, Richard Plump, Raymond Plump and Billie Plump, all of South Bend; three step sisters, E. Jean Webber and Susan Sharpe, both of Chicago, Ill., and Paula Dawning of Omaha, Neb.; four step brothers, Paul Dawning, Jr. and William Dawning, both of South Bend, Count Won Edmondson of North Ridge, Calif., and Henry Riley of Michigan City, Ind.; one uncle, Samuel Plump of South Bend; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Malone; and by three brothers, Charles D. Plump, Willie Plump, Jr. and Tommy J. Plump.

Funeral services will occur at 11:00 a.m. on Monday in the Pentecostal Cathedral Church of God in Christ.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Alford's Mortuary is in charge of handling arrangements.
