EDWARD KLUTH Edward "Edd" William Kluth, "Poppy", 69, of Las Vegas passed away Friday morning Aug. 14, 2009. He was born Nov. 4, 1939, in South Bend, Ind.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years, Josette; sister, Maurietta Bush; children, Sherry and Dan Austin and David Kluth; grandchildren, Jason and Jenna Austin; and great-grandchild, Aubrie Austin-Elliott.

He enjoyed his family and invested in those relationships and in turn was loved and adored. Edd had the spirit of an entrepreneur and was a successful businessman. He was a franchisee for Burger King and Fastsigns. He was an independent for Mr. Burger, Jed's Steakhouse and several car washes. Edd viewed the world as a wonderful place full of many opportunities. Edd was active in many community organizations throughout his lifetime, Big Brothers, Rotary Club, Toastmasters and Lyons Club.

After moving to Las Vegas, he volunteered with Goodwill Industries and was chairman of the board for several terms. Edd was a kind and generous man and was an inspiration to all that knew him. He was a man of great strength and had a firm belief in God.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate and honor Edd's life at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Shadow Hills Baptist Church, 7811 Vegas Drive. Reception to follow in the Fellowship Center.

Donations can be given in memory of Edd to the Nevada Cancer Institute in Las Vegas.
